A Landmark Legacy
Over 50 years of hospitality in Aroostook County
A Landmark of Aroostook County
Presque Isle Hotel stands as one of the most recognizable and historic hospitality landmarks in Northern Maine. With roots dating back to the early 1970s, the property has served generations of travelers, families, business leaders, and the local community — becoming an essential part of Presque Isle's identity and growth.
Originally constructed in 1972 along Houlton Road, the property opened as the Swamp Fox Motor Inn in 1973. Even in its early years, the hotel was designed as a full-service destination, featuring guest rooms, dining facilities, banquet space, and recreational amenities. Over time, it gained recognition as one of the most vibrant hospitality centers in Aroostook County, attracting visitors from across Maine and beyond.
Throughout its history, the hotel has continuously evolved to meet the changing needs of its guests and community — operating under names including Keddy's Motor Inn and the County View Hotel before becoming the Presque Isle Inn & Convention Center, and ultimately today's Presque Isle Hotel.
